CARSON

Carson Pellanda (b. 1986) is a native of Northern California and earned his

Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University Stanislaus, and Master of

Fine arts degree from The University of Hawaii. While painting on canvas is his primary

focus, he is also an active photographer which he finds to influence his process of

framing the composition. He is inspired by the dichotomy found on the surfaces that

are overlooked such as derelict buildings, alleyways, rooftops, trains carts, and

abandoned places, and sees his abstract approach as a re-framing process inspired by

these surfaces.
